Group Fitness in Glen Innes

Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone
Building a level of fitness that is adaptable requires the right mix of training types. This means targeting the specific areas you need to improve while maintaining the rest. Our group classes focus on developing multiple types of fitness, endurance, agility, strength, and balance.
Training smart is just as important as training hard! We work on different components of your body’s performance outputs on different days, so you can train more regularly, with more consistent results and less injuries.

The primary focus of our group classes is building adaptable and functional health and fitness, so nothing stops you from tackling a game of rugby or a 24-hour adventure race! We’ve spent years testing and refining our programming and training methods, so you can be sure you’re getting the most out of every session.

Where fitness goals become extraordinary adventures
Whether it’s through your social sports, hiking, endurance sports or obstacle racing, you love to test yourself. Your sore muscles, scratches and adventure stories aren’t just a sign you’ve trained hard – they’re a reminder that pushing your limits is what makes you feel most alive.
Committed to the cause
We’ve been heavily involved in the outdoor sporting community for years. That’s underpinned by more than a decade of experience in personal training, high-level run coaching and group fitness instruction.
Walking the talk
This isn’t just a job - it’s how we choose to live our lives. We train hard, regularly participate in outdoor events with the Ascend Fit crew and spend our downtime exploring new places.
What you can expect from our workouts
Our group classes focus on developing multiple types of fitness, endurance, agility, strength, and balance.
- Check in. Arrive five minutes early to find your spot on the floor and meet your instructor.
- Mobility work. Each session starts off with five minutes of mobility work, which over time will compound into more range of motion, less pain and greater flexibility.
- The workout! We combine weight training, cardio and core all into one EPIC 45-minute workout. The exercises are easily modified to challenge your fitness level and no workout is ever the same – it’s literally impossible to get bored.
- High fives. You’re heart-rate is pumping and your muscles are tired (in a good way). Get your high fives, give yourself a big pat on the back and we’ll see you at the next session.

120+ members & growing
We’re proud to say many of our members have been with us for years and there’s nothing more rewarding than watching our people train hard and achieve their goals.
When you reach a certain age in life, in my case 51, going to the gym is not about losing weight. It's about strength, stamina, and general fitness; to have a more balanced outlook in life. What I love about Ascend Fit is not just the range of classes. You can feel confident that the coaches are experienced and have studied their craft. Basically everybody is heard and looked after when it comes to fitness. Ascend Fit has given me a chance to participate in outdoor activities such as Lactic Turkey events, and the TrailNav series, which I would not have done before.
Ascend Fit pushes you to realise your fitness potential and more. Ascend Fit has created a community atmosphere in the gym that makes you want to work out and keep going to the gym.
